Inspired to Create
In the very first words of The Bible, we read about creation. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2)
As a church planter, this is my favorite way to think about what we are doing. We are not copying something that already exists, we are not mimicking something that we like and we are not constructing something. We are creating. We are making something new, something alive, something inspiring that points to life beyond what you and I know today.
And just as at the creation of the world, God the Holy Spirit is fueling our power to create. I may have all the best plans but it means nothing unless The Holy Spirit is in it. I can construct an earthly church but it will not transform anyone unless The Holy Spirit is in it. The Holy Spirit empowers ordinary Christians to create incredible things.
Think about your years on earth.
What have you created?
One of the greatest opportunities to create something eternal is to join a church plant. If you want to see The Holy Spirit work in your life, join a new church in their creation process!
When we planted Trinity Church in the fall of 2022, we had nothing. We started with the basics… a prayer book, a calling confirmed by our diocese and a planter. Now, less than two years later, we have almost twenty people worshipping with us, a camaraderie in our core team that is wonderful and a love for each other that is inspirational. We have eagerly shared this with others, inviting them to join us.
Will you join us?
